FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose an Australian-based Turkey tour operator?
Discuss your Turkey itinerary directly with Fazli Karabacak through our Australian contact details. We help with tour planning and questions before you book.
What makes Serendipity Tours different from other Turkey tour companies?
Our groups have a maximum of 8 travellers. Fazli brings 25 years of guiding experience to itineraries focused on Turkey's archaeological and cultural heritage. Confirm the itinerary and guiding arrangements before booking.
How do I get to Turkey from Australia?
Compare current routes to Istanbul with your airline or travel agent, including any stopovers and transit requirements. Flight schedules and journey times change. International flights are not included; domestic flights are included only where specified in your tour itinerary.
Do I need a visa to visit Turkey as an Australian?
Australian ordinary passport holders do not need a visa for tourism or transit stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This exemption does not cover all passport types or purposes of travel. Check the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs guidance for your nationality and passport, and contact a Turkish embassy or consulate for other circumstances.
How much passport validity do I need?
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends a passport valid for at least 6 months from arrival in Turkey. Its general entry rule requires validity for at least 60 days beyond the permitted duration of the visa, visa exemption or residence permit: for a 90-day exemption, that is 150 days of validity on entry. Check any separate airline and transit-country requirements before travel.
Where can I check safety advice?
Smartraveller advises Australians to exercise a high degree of caution in Turkey overall, with higher advice levels in some regions. Read the current advisory, including its regional advice and map, before booking and again before departure. Discuss your planned route with us and check travel-insurance coverage; a guided tour does not remove travel risks.
When is the best time for Australians to visit Turkey?
April to June and September to November offer the best weather for touring. These periods also align well with Australian autumn and spring school holidays. Our tour calendar is designed around optimal conditions at archaeological sites — avoiding the extreme heat of Turkish summers.
Guidance checked 7 September 2026; entry rules and advice can change.
